Basketball Senior Night: Dominance over Jordan

On Friday, January 31, Columbus High School’s basketball team celebrated Senior Night with two large victories over Jordan. The girl’s varsity team began the night with a 68-47 win, and the boys followed with a dominating 83-21 win.


Between the two varsity games, the senior basketball players, basketball cheerleaders, and team managers were recognized as a part of Senior night, and received gifts from their teams. The basketball cheerleaders were gifted goodie baskets, the girls basketball players were gifted personalized basketballs, and the boys basketball players were gifted their own framed jerseys.


The senior girls basketball players recognized were Alyna Gilbert, Jayla Lockhart, Cristina Christophe, and Sydney Foster.


The senior basketball cheerleaders recognized were Neveah Galloway, Taylor Smith, AJ Moore, and Jourdin Brown.


The senior team manager recognized was Tristan Patterson.


Last but not least, the senior boys basketball players recognized were Liam Mason, JC Bush, Demarion Lee, Trenton Davis, and Enyekeme Marcus.


Girls senior basketball player Alyna Gilbert reminisces on that night, remarking, “It was very emotional,” and, “All the memories I’ve made that night will always have a special place in my heart.”


Boys basketball player Demarion Lee (12) says, “It felt amazing to feel recognized for all the hard work I’ve put in these last four years.”


Also, during halftime of the boy’s varsity game, the basketball cheerleaders performed a dance routine that was very entertaining and mesmerizing.
