Columbus High students raised an impressive $19,445 through the Mini Dance Marathon (MDM) fundraiser, supporting the Piedmont Columbus Regional Foundation. This event was an inspiring display of charisma hosted at the Young Life Hub. The enticing event brought together students and families for an evening fi lled with dancing and support.

Mini Dance Marathon is an addition to the nationwide Miracle Network Dance Marathon, which raises funds for children’s hospitals around the country. This event specifi cally benefi ts the Bill and Olivia Amos Children’s Hospital in Columbus, GA. By providing fi nancial aid and equipment for research, students from Columbus High can make a salient impact on the lives of others.

Columbus businesses such as WC Bradley, Posh Spa and Lounge, and J.A. Long Concrete Paving were extremely generous during the event. Over twenty sponsors contributed to this fundraiser.

Clara Fuller (11), a committee member for the event, has helped gain sponsorships from local businesses and helped set up for the event. She has continually asserted how rewarding the whole process of planning and partaking in this event has been.

“Seeing miracle kids at the event put into perspective where this money was going and how we are positively impacting the lives of these children!” Fuller exclaims.

Lilly Phillips (11) participated as Vice President of the Sponsorship Committee and helped reach out to local businesses for sponsorships.

This is Phillips's third year assisting in this fundraising event, and she cherishes the growth of the money they raise each year. She also emphasizes sponsorship commitment and thoughtfulness as keys to making a significant impact.

“Our collective effort and community involvement make me proud to be a part of this organization, and I cannot wait to see even more growth with the support of our community,” Phillips acknowledges.

Looking ahead, the students behind Mini Dance Marathon hope to continue to expand their impact. They encourage the community to continue to support their endeavors through sponsorship donations and volunteer work.

Fueled by the passion and dedication of students and the broader Columbus community, MDM continues to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families.
