Friday Night Lights Meet: A Bright Start to the Track Season

The Friday Night Lights competition took place February 25th, marking the beginning of the 2022 Track and Field season for CHS. The CHS Girl’s team won first place, and the Boy’s team earned third.


The meet was held at Kinnett Stadium, and ten different high school teams competed. The CHS Girls and Boys team earned over two dozen placements in different track and field events.


For the track events, the CHS Boy’s team won first place in the 4x800 Meter Relay. The Boy’s team received top ten placements in the 300 Meter Hurdles, 100 Meter Dash, and the 4x100, 4x200, 4x400 Meter Relays.


The CHS Girl’s team earned top ten placements in the 300 Meter Hurdles, 3200 Meter Run, 100 Meter Dash, and the 4x100, 4x800, 4x200, 4x400 Meter Relays.


In the field events, the Girl’s team placed first in the High Jump and Pole Vault. Both CHS teams won second place in the Discus Throw event.


Overall, the Boy’s team finished with a total of 68 points, and the Girl’s team completed the meet with 103 points.
